Kagaznagar town in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district was perhaps the noisiest place in the area, what with the supporters of Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa bursting two lorry loads of firecrackers.

Mill revival

They were celebrating the decision of the National Company Law Tribunal to reopen the sick Sirpur Paper Mills.

The celebrations were also attended by Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna, Housing Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Bellampally MLA Durgam Chinnaiah, MLC Puranam Satish and Mr. Konappa himself.

The leaders came in a rally to the main gate of the factory from the forest check-post.

The Sirpur MLA had even brought in 15 specialists to make a show of the firecracker bursting in the vicinity of the SPM.

In the presence of the Ministers and others, the locks of the main gate were opened for cleaning of the premises to commence.

Replacement talks

The Ministers lauded the State government for its efforts to reopen the unit.

There was talk of replacing the old paper making machinery with new one once the cleaning was done.
