The victim's parents, in their complaint, have alleged that the girl may have been murdered by someone who is known to them.

The body of an 8-year-old girl was found in a drain in Karnataka’s Mangaluru city on Sunday evening. Cops suspect that the girl was murdered and her body dumped into the drain.

The parents of the victim work in Raj Tiles factory at Parari village which is located within the Mangaluru rural limits. The girl reportedly went missing at 4 pm while her parents were at work. Two hours later, her body was found in a drain near the factory.

Her parents, in their complaint, have alleged that the girl may have been murdered by someone who is known to them.

Mangaluru city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, “Around 30 people work in the factory. As it was a Sunday, only 19 were at work today. We have detained some of the suspects for questioning and a probe is underway. A murder case has been lodged as of now.”
