Several key expectations of Yadgir were unrealised in the Budget presented by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday.

Mr. Kumaraswamy has made only one announcement for the district, earmarking Rs. 150 crore to be spent to implement ‘Israel model of irrigation’ in 5,000 acres of land to encourage horticulture sector.

“The education sector was not considered even as people expected a new engineering and ITI college,” Sharanu Gadduge, Kannada activist, has said.

“The government should act to implement the Budget announcements, particularly loan waiver, without delay,” Mallikarjun Satyampet, State secretary of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangh, has said.
