In a strong message to the cadre, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that the party would encourage only winning horses in the coming elections.

It was the responsibility of the cadre to win public confidence by highlighting the government’s achievements during the last 1,500 days. Also, they should counter the Opposition criticism with proofs and evidences.

In a close to two-hour speech at the TDP general body meeting on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said that there was no room for discontent, disagreement and squabbling. The rank and file has to work in unison to win all the seats.

‘Conspiracy politics’

The elections would be “one-sided” if the people and cadre accepted him. It was the responsibility of the leaders to take care of the cadre. “Everyone is equal to me. Overcome egos and work unitedly for the victory of the party,” he said.

He asked the leaders to take the government’s achievements to the last mile person in the State during the Grama Darshini programme to be launched on July 16. It was also necessary to educate the people on “conspiracy politics” of the BJP, the YSR Congress and Jana Sena Party (JSP), non-cooperation of Centre and its failures.

The YSRCP and the JSP were silent on NDA government’s failures. The duo were not talking about currency crunch, the BJP’s promise of bringing back black money stashed in Swiss banks, rise in petroleum prices, decline in farmers’ income, poor planning in the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), he pointed out.

While YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is accused in corruption cases, JSP chief Pawan Kalyan has experience only in the film field. A committee constituted by the JSP has calculated that the Centre has to release Rs. 70,000 crore to AP, but its leader hasn’t spoken a word about it during his yatras.

Mr. Jagan was supporting the BJP, which was using the Law Commission to conduct simultaneous polls.

“We will win all the seats, but if we lose a few, it will be due to the failure on the part of the leaders concerned. The TDP has to retain power for the development of A.P.,” he said

TDP State president K. Kala Venkat Rao, Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy, and N. Lokesh, MP Y.S. Choudary, and Polit Bureau members K. Pratibha Bharati and Galla Aruna Kumari were among those present.
