The State government on Monday made certain amendments to the A.P. Building Rules, 2017 on receiving representations from real estate and builders’ associations.

Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana stated in a press release that all industrial buildings would be exempted from the mortgage of 10% built-up area. This was as part of measures aimed at improving the ease of doing business and streamlining the process.

The minimum road width for permitting industrial buildings has been reduced to 9 metres from 12 meters.

It has also been decided to double the Transfer of Development Rights in respect of lands given to urban local bodies for widening of roads and other purposes from 200% to 400%.

Housing for the poor

In case of housing projects, shelter fee imposed on real estate developers to support EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and LIG (Low Income Group) housing for the poor is reduced to 50%.
