The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday removed MLC Yasir Reshi as the party’s district president of Bandipora, after he joined four rebel PDP MLAs to support Peoples Conference (PC) chief Sajad Lone’s bid to form the government in J&K with the help of a section of the BJP.
“The PDP has removed Reshi as the district president,” said party chief spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir. However, the party has decided against pushing for his disqualification from the Assembly’s Upper House immediately.

that Mr. Reshi, who lost the 2014 Assembly polls and later won an MLC seat, “not only raked up false allegations against the PDP leadership but also tried to conspire with the outside forces to split the party to form an undemocratic government”.
