More number of people are using free Wireless Internet (Wi-FI) connection provided under Amma Wi-FI scheme by the government at the MGR Integrated Bus Stand in Mattuthavani, a statement issued by the district administration said.

According to the statement, since the launch of the facility in April, the number of users has increased by roughly 10% every month. There were 17,565 users in April, 20,504 in May and 22,321 in June.

As per the scheme, users will be able to use the facility free of cost for 20 minutes a day, following which they can continue using the service by paying Rs. 10 per hour online through credit or debit card. The users can access the facility by connecting to the ‘Amma Wi-Fi’ wireless connection on their phones when they are at the bus stand.
