The police have arrested a juvenile on charges of murder and sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy at Flour Mill near Langer Houz on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police the accused, a 17-year-old electrician, killed the boy after he reportedly said he would reveal the assault to his father. Everyday the boy used to leave for a madrasa around 8.30 a.m. and return home by 4.30 p.m. On Tuesday too he left home saying that he was going to the madrasa but did not go, Asifnagar ACP K. Ashok Chakrawarthy said.

Around 2 p.m., a resident saw the boy entering the Flour Mill compound with the electrician and did not suspect any foul play, as the boy frequently visited the spot. During interrogation, the 17-year-old boy reportedly told the police that he had sexually assaulted the boy and later crushed his head with a granite inside a room in the open plot. Further, the accused strangled him with a plastic pipe, the police said, adding that both victim and accused were neighbours.
