In a special drive against minors driving vehicles, the Karimnagar traffic police on Saturday caught 50 underage drivers and counselled them in the presence of their family members in the town.
The traffic police also seized 179 vehicles for not possessing necessary documents and a fine of Rs. 23,500 was imposed. The police also fixed new silencers for four vehicles with were found to be causing sound pollution.
In a press note here, Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy warned that minors driving vehicles without licence would be booked along with their parents. He said they would register criminal cases if they caused accidents and death of a person. They would continue the drive against underage driving in the town, he said.
