, Mr. Vijayakumar said the TDB should take every possible step to check entry of menstruating women to Sabarimala.

Mr Vijayakumar said the propaganda that there is a ban on women’s entry to Sabarimala is totally unfounded and misleading.

He said there was only a restriction to the entry of women in the age group of 10 to 50 years to Sabarimala on the basis of certain tantric tradition and unique ritualistic practice at the Ayyappa shrine..

He said there was every reason to suspect a conspiracy targeting Sabarimala behind the clamour for permitting entry to all women to Sabarimala.

“Why these so-called progressive quarters were not demanding entry for women at various Muslim mosques?” he quipped.

“Women’s entry to the evening session of the Maramon convention is not allowed. Similarly, women are not permitted to enter the Rajarajeswari Temple at Thaliparamba during the evening rituals,” he said.
