P.C. George, MLA, has got a reprieve in a 2017 case that accused him of having assaulted an MLA hostel canteen waiter for delaying his lunch. The High Court stayed the proceedings in the case for two months and till further orders. The State police had booked the legislator on charges of simple assault and voluntarily causing hurt under Sections 294 (B) and 323 of the Indian Penal Code by a complaint filed by the victim, Manu, 22.
