Jitendra J. Jadhav, director, CFTRI, on Friday said research in life sciences will help the country’s economic progress.
He was speaking after inaugurating the CSIR-CFTRI Students’ Symposium, an effort by research scholars. The event focussed on advances in biological research.
Mr. Jadhav called upon research scholars to bring out innovations that would benefit the country’s growth. Application-oriented research was the need of the hour keeping in view the benefits to the society at large, he said.
CCSS-2018 is organised in association with the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists. The symposium is designed for young researchers in institutions in and around Mysuru.
More than 200 researchers from CFTRI, University of Mysore, DFRL Mysuru and other research institutions attended the symposium.
