An 18-year-old engineering student from Ganapavaram village in Sattenapalli mandal who was admitted with acute liver failure, was given a new lease of life by doctors at Ramesh Hospitals, Guntur.

Liver transplant

A team of doctors led by gastroenterologist, Battini Rajesh who started treating the patient, finally performed a liver transplant and restored the patient to his normal health. The hospitals, registered with Jeevandan through which cadaver liver transplants could be done, registered the details of the patient but the team of doctors, including critical care specialist Shilpa Chowdary, Dr. Rajesh, haematologist Navin Ganju, liver transplant surgeon Jayanth Reddy admitted the patient in the critical card and began treatment. Dr. Rajesh said that it was presumed that people who consume alcohol are prone to liver diseases but many people are getting affected by Hepatitis A, B , C due to lifestyle changes.
