YSR Congress Party political coordinator Majji Srinivasa Rao on Monday asked TDP government to complete Tarakarama Theertha Sagar Reservoir Project on a priority basis to improve drinking water facility for Vizianagaram and provide irrigation to thousands of acres in the district.
Addressing a press conference, he alleged that TDP government ignored irrigation projects and claimed credit for the Thotapalli project, which was completed under the initiative of former minister Botcha Satyanarayana.
Mr. Rao said that party leaders had no right to visit villages in the name of Grama Darshini since they had ‘failed’ to address the real issues of the people.
"Former Union Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Minister for Mines Sujay Krishna Rangarao failed to ensure overall growth of the district. Many jute factories have been closed in the district. The issue had not been taken up in spite of repeated agitation from labourers," he alleged. Senior party leaders Ch.Venkata Ramana, KV Suryanarayana Raju, Pilla Vijay Kumar were present.
