The Basaveshwara Nagar police, last Thursday, arrested a man who was allegedly involved in the theft of several two-wheelers.

Ten two-wheelers worth Rs. 8.37 lakh were recovered from Sharath, 25, who was wanted in Basaveshwara Nagar, Vijaya Nagar, Kamakshipalya, Subramanya Nagar, Mahalakshmi Layout and Yeshwantpur station limits. The police also seized a country-made pistol and eight live bullets.

The accused is a resident of Papareddy Palya, Nagarbhavi. He was intercepted near Kurubarahalli Circle. Upon inquiry, he told the police that he wanted to commit suicide as his parents were against him marrying the girl of his choice.

He has been taken into custody.
