Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University will go ahead with the recruitment of the teaching staff, according to its Vice-Chancellor M.S. Subhas.

Reacting to reports in a section of the press that recruitment of teachers had to be stopped, Mr. Subhas clarified that the Univeristy Grants Commission had sent a letter requesting the universities to stop the recruitments as a special leave petition was coming up for hearing in the Supreme Court.

“Chief Secretary to government of Karnataka has directed the university to complete the recruitment process of teachers post within three months. Moreover, the recruitment process, which has already begun, was to fill up the posts that have been reserved under Article 371(J). As such we will be going ahead with the recruitments,” he told presspersons here on Monday.
