West Bengal govt. bans union activities in jails

The West Bengal government has banned union activities by employees in State jails in a bid to improve work culture. The Cabinet has given its nod to a notification to this effect.

“No employee will get exem-ption from routine/adminis-tration transfer” only because they are members of an union, says the notification, issued last Thursday.PTI
