Says he will let people know about his course of action
Former IPS officer V.V. Lakshminarayana sought to clear the air on reports in a section of media that he would join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to contest from Bheemli constituency in the general elections.
Speaking to vernacular news channels on Tuesday, he said that the reports were baseless and mere speculations. The former cop said he would let the people know about his political activity.
The speculations acquired political hues with the YSR Congress Party levelling allegations against the TDP and Mr. Lakshminarayana. The TDP, however, remained silent on the developments. The TDP leaders, in private, said that the news was ‘handiwork of the YSR Congress Party’.
YSRCP official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu, addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, said that the YSRCP stand was vindicated “with Mr. Lakshminarayana joining the yellow party.” “The mala fide nexus between TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and the former CBI Joint Director were exposed with the latter joining the yellow party and contesting from Bheemli,” he alleged.
“The case on YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was foisted with political motives with the Congress and the TDP joining hands and the case was taken up in a tearing hurry by the CBI with Mr. Lakshminarayana being the investigation officer who went overboard to support the TDP and its friendly media,” he alleged.
