The Guntur Rural Police went digital on Thursday with the introduction of 25 e-office systems enabling tracking of files online.

Superintendent of Police Ch. Venkat Appala Naidu launched the systems, connected to a central server, at the district police office, where operational training was being given to personnel in phases.

Linked to central database

Mr. Naidu also introduced a finger print machine that was connected to the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), which kept a record of past offences. Launching the systems, Mr. Naidu said technology would play a major role in investigating criminal cases and detecting stolen or lost property.
