SS Rajamouli‘ much-awaited period action film RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) has been postponed once again. Recently the makers confirmed the same by  releasing a statement on social media.  The release of the film is postponed amid a surge in the coronavirus cases in the country and concerns over the new Omicron variant.

The movie starring  Ram Charan and Jr NTR, was scheduled to arrive in cinema halls on 7th January 2022,  Produced by DVV Entertainments, the news of RRR being delayed comes just  few  days ahead of its release in theaters and before the grand promotional activities being carried out across the country.  Advance bookings were made for Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer  RRR as the film was suppose to release on 7th January.

The movie had advance bookings in multiple languages. However, the refunds have to take place and  it is being heard that there is a loss of Rs 10 Cr.

An exhibitor and distributor of Rajasthan, revealed, “ RRR has already lost 20-25 % of its business due to restrictions in cinemas occupancy.  The change of release date only makes the public lose interest in films. The makers should’ve been taken much before the advances were opened.”
