FIFA fever grips
students, teachers
Keeping with the football fever that had gripped society during the past one month, members of the students’ council of Cochin Refineries School set out to experience the euphoria with women’s football, an event that depicted the progress of the FIFA World Cup Football. The event was inaugurated P.K. Velayudhan, president, Vadavukode – Puthenkurisu grama panchayat. Principal Mala B. Menon started the game with a penalty shootout. Earlier, vice principal S. Devideyal welcomed the gathering. Ward member M.K. Ravi was present. A cavalcade of 32 countries was represented by students who carried eco-friendly placards. Four teams comprising girls, boys, and women members of the faculty represented France, Belgium, England, and Croatia.
France emerged champions. The principal distributed prizes. School sports captian Athul Pinheiro proposed a vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
Investiture ceremony at MGM Public School
Prasanna Paulose, Sub Inspector of police, Udayamperoor, was the chief guest at the investiture ceremony at MGM Public School, Kandanad. Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev, Assistant Sub Inspector of police, Udayamperoor, encouraged students to develop leadership qualities at an early age. Principal Alice Jose stressed the importance of taking up endeavours with focus and excelling in them. Head boy Subith S. Ninan and head girl Aleena Maria Felix along with their team of office-bearers took the pledge to conduct school duties with honesty and integrity.
