The top central committee member of the outlawed Communist Party of India maoist leader Akkiraju Haragopal alias RK has reportedly died in the forest of south Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The reports of his death came a day later from the day of his actual death happened. Reports say that the RK was suffering from pneumonia and other health ailments.

RK has held the 50 lakh reward on his head. The 70-year-old Central Committee member RK had the situation of escaping earlier from a few of the police’s planned encounters. However, in one encounter, that was held in Malkangiri district of Odisha during 2016, his son Munna was killed.

Whereas, the RK family, his wife and former Naxalite Padma, who are staying in Alakurapadu village of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh seems to have denied the reports of RK’s death and they refused to comment on such reports.

Speaking to the media meet, Dr Abhishek Pallav Dantewada district superintendent of police said, “We are receiving inputs that Ramakrishna died in a forest in the borders of south Bastar on Wednesday. But we are yet to confirm the news,”.
