Indian shuttlers Sourabh Verma and Mithun Manjunath progressed to the semifinals of the men’s singles competition at the $ 75,000 Russian Open BWF Tour Super 100 tournament here on Friday.

Eighth seed Sourabh defeated Israel’s third seed Misha Zilberman 21-14, 21-16 in 36 minutes.

Mithun also dispatched Malaysia’s Satheishtharan Ramachandran 21-18, 21-12 in another quarterfinal. It will be an all-Indian semifinal as Mithun takes on Sourabh on Saturday.

Second seeded mixed doubles pair of Rohan Kapoor and Kuhoo Garg also entered the semifinals after brushing aside Andrej Loginov and Liliia Abibulaeva 21-13, 21-9.

They will face Malaysian combo of Chen Tang Jie and Yen Wei Peck. The Malaysian combo had defeated third seeded Saurabh Sharma and Anoushka Parikh 21-15, 21-8.

It was also end of the road for former national champion Rituparna Das, who lost 21-17, 21-13 to USA’s Iris Wang.

Men: Sourabh Verma bt Misha Zilberman (Isr) 21-14, 21-16; Mithun Manjunath bt Satheishtharan Ramachandran (Mas) 21-18, 21-12; Subhankar Dey lost to Vladimir Malkov (Rus) 22-20, 21-15.

Women: Rituparna Das lost to Iris Wang (USA) 21-17, 21-13; Vrushali Gummadi lost to Yen Mei Ho (Mas) 21-9, 21-11.

Mixed Doubles: Rohan Kapoor & Kuhoo Garg bt Andrej Loginov & Liliia Abibulaeva (Rus) 21-13, 21-9; Saurabh Sharma & Anoushka Parikh lost to Chen Tang Jie & Yen Wei Peck (Mas) 21-15, 21-8
