For Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson’s final date on Love Island, they were treated to an idyllic ride on a luxury yacht – that could have hardly have been more romantic.

But some viewers called out the rendezvous for ‘fakery’ – and they weren’t talking about Wes and Megan’s chemistry.

A few fans took to Twitter to sensationally claim the picturesque Mallorcan views seen in the background appeared as thought they had been added with a green screen.

However, a spokesperson for the show told Mirror Online there was no truth to the claims.

"Was that boat date fake what Megan and Wes went on? Didn’t look right at all??" asked one fan.

"Why does Megan and Wes’s date look so fake?" queried another.

However, a spokesperson for the show told Mirror Online: "The date on the boat and scenery were 100 per cent real."

While other viewers joked that Megan and Wes’ date looked like the stuff of nightmares, as the choppy waters left them feeling sea sick at home.

"Catching up on Love Island … not gonna lie that date of Wes and Megan’s would be my worst nightmare = even that boat bobbing about on tv made me feel queasy."

"Just me who felt sea sick watching Megan and Wes ’s date" asked another.

With the final dates out the way, the Islanders are set to take on the next step in their relationships by meeting each other’s parents.

In Sunday night’s episode the contestants will be reunited with their loved ones before the daunting prospect of introducing them to their new partners.

But Jack Fincham has got off easily as Dani Dyer’s father Danny is sadly not going to be making an appearance in the villa.

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm
