Tandav promises to be thrilling. Moumita Bhattacharjee hopes it lives up to this.

The scion of a family with a political legacy covets the most important throne of India. But he has a worthy rival in a woman who knows how to arm-twist him for her own gains.

That summarises Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia in the pacy trailer of Ali Abbas Zafar’s Web series, Tandav.

Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is extremely hopeful that he will become the next prime minister but others are worried.

A sudden tragedy strikes and the throne slips away from his hand, all thanks to Anuradha Kishore’s (Dimple Kapadia) manipulations.

Samar won’t back down and with his trusted aide Gurpal Chauhan (Sunil Grover) by his side, he decides to indulge in Chanakyaniti, after his move to get youth leader Shiva Shekhar (Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub) fails miserably.

The battle is on as they take part in who will be the next prime minister.

The trailer is fast-paced, which is both interesting and a bit jarring.

Before you get an idea of what the characters are doing, they move on to the next.

Registering the actors become a problem here.

But momentum saves the show from the plot giveaways.

Apart from that, the trailer explains a lot about how Indian politics unfolds.

Sunil Grover’s character looks highly interesting as he does Saif’s bidding.

I guess he might mouth the funniest one-liners.

Ayyub’s confident youth leader form also looks intriguing.

But it is Saif’s wordless smirks and smiles that do the maximum talking.

Every time he does that, you get the feeling he is up to no good. That’s your cue to expect a massive twist in the tale.

I just hope Dimple’s Anuradha will not just be a shadow and will instead get enough room to flourish. Only then would the contest between the two be entertaining to watch.

All in all, the political drama promises to be thrilling and exhilarating. Hope it lives up to the same when it starts streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 15.
