In the joint interview between Alison, 48, and Noel, 50, Alison joined in by adding: \u201cBake Off do listen to their fans, If viewers say it would be nice to go back to basics, they take that on board.\u201d<\/p>\n
Noel has been part of the Bake Off team for seven years since the show made its move from its original BBC slot over to Channel 4. The original hosts Mel and Sue, along with Mary Berry, left the show, leaving Paul Hollywood as only one of the original four to remain on the show.<\/p>\n
When the show moved to Channel 4, it launched with Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig as the presenters. Discussing the pairing during the interview, Noel described the duo as being \u201clike a classic double act.\u201d<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Sandi left the show after three years and was replaced by comedian Matt Lucas.<\/p>\n Matt stood down at the end of the last series, releasing a statement that said: \u201cIt’s been a delicious experience and I can’t imagine a more fun way of spending my summers.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it’s become clear to me that I can’t present both Fantasy Football League and Bake Off alongside all my other projects.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n Alison who is Noel\u2019s third co-host, commented: \u201cPeople wouldn\u2019t necessarily put us together \u2013 but it\u2019s like my chocolate brownie recipe. It just works\u201d, referencing the classic dish she has made on This Morning.<\/p>\n During the interview, Noel also references Alison\u2019s warmth and empathy, which he thinks will be a big hit with the viewers and also claims there\u2019s a lot of crying in this series from both hosts.<\/p>\n This series of Bake Off will see the show go back to basics after complaints from viewers that the challenges were getting too complicated.<\/p>\n Richard McKerrow, boss at Love Productions who make the long-running show, told The Media Podcast: \u201cI\u2019d be the first to hold up our hands and say I feel the last series was not our strongest,\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019ve got to take a look and go, \u2018Sh*t, are the challenges too \u00adcomplicated?\u2019 We\u2019re looking very, very, very hard at making sure it\u2019s as good a series as it can be.\u201d<\/p>\n
