Frank Sinatra’s daughter Tina Sinatra said he suffered from guilt in his final moments.<\/p>\n

The 75 year old shared that the legendary singer was regretful about splitting from her mother Nancy Barbato, who had to bring up her older siblings brother, Frank Junior, then five, and nine-year-old Nancy when he left the family home.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a new interview, Tina recalled her dad living with “terrible guilt” where she revealed he apologised in his final days.<\/p>\n

She told The Mirror: \u201cI had a talk with him near his end, and he told me he was sorry. I said, \u2018Dad, it\u2019s a long time ago. Leaving mum was so long ago\u2019 and he just said, \u2018I think I hurt you most because you were so young\u2019.<\/p>\n

“He knew it hurt that I never knew what it was like to have breakfast with my dad.”<\/p>\n

Tina shared that her beloved dad’s nickname for her was “Pigeon” and on his death bed, he uttered three heartbreaking words that have lived with her ever since.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad\u2019s nickname for me was \u2018Pigeon\u2019 and I\u2019ll never forget at the end of his life, in the middle of the night in the dark, he said, \u2018I\u2019m sorry, Pigeon\u2019,” she recalled.<\/p>\n

Tina was just seven months old when her dad left the family home and although they remained in regular contact, he was “physically distant”.<\/p>\n

She also addressed a rift with her father in his latter years after he married his fourth wife.<\/p>\n
