While discussing how they&#8217;ve made up over the last year, he admitted it was easy for them to &#8220;forgive&#8221; each other:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think when you respect somebody for who they are, like in their soul, it allows you to move on, forgive and continue that love in a different way. We stayed friendly, we would see each other now and then. But we then did fall out of touch and didn\u2019t talk for a while. But I\u2019ve always had the deepest respect for who she is as a person before anything else.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Noting how they were &#8220;so young&#8221; at the time when they dated &#8212; they were only around 17 and 20 years old for the few months they dated in 2009 &#8212; Lautner said &#8220;rekindling&#8221; their friendship is something he truly cherishes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Honestly I would say one of the greater things to happen in my life over the last year is the rekindling of our friendship &#8230; Above anything else that  is, she is just a wonderful human. And pretty great to have in your life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aww! So sweet!<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <em>Twilight<\/em> actor went <em>Back To December<\/em> in the interview, and confirmed it was &#8220;absolutely&#8221; Swift who dumped him &#8212; not the other way around:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, absolutely . I\u2019m thinking back on exactly what happened.
