After being crowned King of the Jungle on ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Sam Thompson has been heavily tipped to host at least one episode of This Morning before the end of next year. However, the former Made In Chelsea star also spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the possibility of an exciting team-up with Strictly Come Dancing star girlfriend Zara McDermott.

In a wider chat about his work with Boots, which sees him present The Locker Room series in a bid to get more men talking about their mental health, Sam talked about what the future held for himself and Zara ahead of entering the jungle. The Hits Radio presenter and ex-Love Island contestant can often be seen making hilarious TikTok and Instagram videos together, but Sam revealed they might be appearing on a slightly larger screen together soon.

Bookies William Hill is offering odds of 8/1 that Sam will follow in his girlfriend Zara’s footsteps and join Strictly next year. However, those aren’t the only odds available, as they also see This Morning in the Love Island podcast host’s future.

The new I’m A Celeb champ boasts 4/6 odds of guest hosting or permanently hosting the ITV daytime show between now and the end of 2024, following an increase in his popularity after appearing in the jungle. Company spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Sam Thompson’s reign as King of the Jungle may still be in its infancy, but we’re already looking ahead to what lies in store next for the Made in Chelsea star.”

However, Sam might not be alone in what might be his first step towards landing a daytime presenting gig, as the star told Express.co.uk he would be keen to see girlfriend Zara join him in a hosting role. The star even playfully likened them to married couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who presented This Morning together between 2006 and 2021.

Sam said: “I have absolutely no desire to not work with Zara! I love working with her, it is so fun.

“We’ve never really had much of an opportunity, to be honest. It’s just never been the right time.”

Sam also made reference to Zara’s “busy” schedule thanks to her work on hard-hitting documentaries for the BBC, including Disordered Eating, Uncovering Rape Culture and Revenge Porn.

Nonetheless, he then went on to reveal his small-screen aspirations with Zara, admitting: “It’s all about trying to find the time, but one day I would absolutely love to.

“If I’m honest with you, I’d love to do a sort of hosting thing with her – like an Eamonn and Ruth! That would be fun.”

This Morning has used a rotation of male presenters since the departure of Phillip Schofield in May, while Sam’s campmate Josie has been a regular on the show since 2019.

Boots has an extensive selection of products and services dedicated to men’s health, available through the Boots Health Hub. Boots pharmacists can provide over-the-counter medicines and healthcare advice in stores.
