Friends star Matthew Perry dies aged 54

Matthew Perry was buried on Friday at the Forest Lawn Church of the Hills, located within the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

The beloved Friends actor had passed away at his home just last week aged 54 and now rests alonside many other well-loved Hollywood stars.

The intimate ceremony was attended by a small group of close friends and family, with some of his former Friends cast mates among those in mourning.

It has been reported that the service concluded with the poignant Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush duet, “Don’t Give Up”.

The final resting place for Perry, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, holds significance for fans of the hit series Friends as it is situated directly across from Warner Bros Studios.

While numerous exterior and cityscape shots were filmed in New York to capture the essence of the city, the majority of the series was actually filmed and produced at the renowned Warner Bros Studios in California.

Perry found his final resting place in a cemetery that is home to numerous celebrities.

Forest Lawn Memorial Park has become home to several Hollywood legends, which includes luminaries such as Bette Davis, Stan Laurel, Carrie Fisher, and the iconic Marilyn Monroe.

Brittany Murphy was buried there in 2009; Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker was laid to rest there in 2013; and the youngest Bee Gee, Andy Gibb, was also buried there in 1988.

This cemetery is also the resting ground for other late stars such as Michael Hutchence, the frontman of INXS, and Anne Heche, an actress and former partner of Ellen DeGeneres.

Actress Jennifer Aniston was among the high-profile mourners who were in attendance at Perry’s funeral.

According to an onlooker, the Rachel Green star was “one of the first to arrive” at the hour-long burial.

Jennifer was photographed dressed in black alongside Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer as they entered the Forest Lawn cemetery.

The TV stars were then joined outside by Joey Tribbiani actor Matt LeBlanc.

Perry’s emotional parents were also in attendance, his mother Suzanne Morrison, and Dateline journalist stepfather Keith, and father John Perry.
