There’s a reason that the song is being revisited. In the new movie, Rachel‘s character Lucy Gray Baird is the first person to sing “The Hanging Tree” generations before Katniss learned it.
Rachel is no stranger to musical projects after starring in the film adaptation of West Side Story. On the other hand, Jennifer was “horrified to sing,” according to director Francis Lawrence.
