Sarah Ferguson joins the queue to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning after the Duchess Of York impressed on Loose Women: ‘Everyone thought she was a natural’
Sarah Ferguson has joined the growing queue to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning after impressing ITV bosses with her guest appearance on Loose Women.
The Duchess of York is in talks with the long-running show for a guest slot on the show, The Mirror has reported, after previous appearances on the channel earlier this year.
Holly left the show last month ‘for the sake of her family’ after discovering she was the target of a foiled kidnap and murder plot and as yet has not been replaced permanently.
And there has been much anticipation in the following weeks as rumours circulate over who will fill her shoes, with Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and Rochelle Humes currently sharing the role on a part-time basis.
Sarah, 64, is in talks with the show’s executives after she joined the Loose Women to discuss her breast cancer journey earlier this month.

A TV source told the publication: ‘The Duchess was a real hit with ITV bosses on Loose Women, everyone thought she was a natural.
‘There is an open invitation for her to return to Loose Women and there is also talk of her doing a guest slot on This Morning or a mini-series for them.’
Back in March she also appeared on This Morning, where Holly asked if she would be interested in returning to the show with a love phone-in.
Sarah said at the time: ‘Holly, I would love to do that maybe when you’re back from your annual leave and the Easter holidays! But there’s no question, that is right on topic. We love to love.’
And Sarah is no stranger to TV after she stood in for Larry King in the US for a stint and loved her time co-hosting Loose Women in aid of breast cancer awareness.
The Duchess has also previously worked as a special correspondent on NBC’s Today in the States.
Yet the royal family member isn’t the only one billed for the role, after it was revealed that Cat Deeley has reportedly joined This Morning as a presenter and will make her debut with Rylan Clark on November 13.
The TV personality and actress, 47, will be taking to the famous sofa to co-host with popular star Rylan – who is currently guest-presenting the breakfast show alongside permanent host Josie Gibson.

Cat began her career as a co-presenter for the ITV children’s show SMTV Live, for which she won a BAFTA Children’s Award, and its spin-off chart show CD:UK.
A source told The Sun: ‘Cat is a seasoned pro and execs have been keen to get her in for a while. She takes live TV in her stride and his really witty and personable with guests.
‘She is comfortable interviewing both pop stars and politicians, so if it goes well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly leaving. Cat would be safe captain to steady the ship.
‘Rylan was a resounding success too so fans can expect to see a lot more of him in the future.’
ITV and Cat’s reps have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
